Tigers Odds and Ends

-Is Armando Galarraga having arm troubles? Morosi is very well tuned in to the Tigers, as he used to be our beat writer for the Free Press. The scouts speculate that the World Baseball Classic might be the culprit. If this is indeed the case, and he struggles again in his next start, then I have to think that he will be placed on the DL. In that case, either Miner would get called into the rotation or Luke French would be called up from Toledo to take Armando's spot in the rotation. This will certainly be a story to track in the coming days.

-Also, the Tigers made a lot of organizational moves today. With the signing of Edwin Gomez, the Tigers have now signed 5 of their top 10 picks (3B Wade Gaynor, CF Jamie Johnson, C John Murrian, and 2B Chris Sedon). I still expect us to sign Jacob Turner, Andrew Oliver, Daniel Fields and Austin Wood. At this point, I think Craig Fritsch will be the hardest to sign. Turner and Fields will definitely sign over the slot that Selig would like. Oliver might be a candidate to do so, as well. Here is a link to our 50 Draft picks with players highlighted who have already signed with us.

-I'll be back with my post game thoughts on the Tigers game later, and with a Minor League Recap. Tomorrow night I will be live-blogging the NBA draft. Starting Friday and over the course of the weekend, I will have posts up profiling the Pistons and Red Wings draft picks and with a look at a couple Tigers players who are having career seasons (and some of those who are not). I also will further preview the Wings and Pistons Free Agency plans as July 1st approaches, and pose a couple of questions that we will see answered by Ken Holland and Joe Dumars over the course of the next few months. See ya in a few, and try to enjoy this great warm weather!
